Personal experience:

First of all, I want to say when I was memorizing the Qur’an, it was the easiest thing I have memorized in my entire life, it was like a miracle. And that’s not just for me. Everyone I know who memorized the Qur’an thinks the same. Remember what Allah said “And we have indeed made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition” (surah Al-Qamar) – verse 17.

And you will find it very easy once you try hard and put a good effort in it.

And here I will try to give you some advices that will help you to become a Hafiz.

Before you start, you should intend that you will do that for Allah, and ask Allah to make it easier for you

1- By listening and repeating
2- By reading and repeating
I recommend both of them, but use listening before reading.

Steps you should take to become a hafiz:

1- You should make a realistic schedule for like a month and put in that schedule that you will memorize less than you think you can.
Let’s say that your goal is to memorize one page every day, and that means 15 lines so try to stick to your own schedule.

2-Listen to this page 3 times using a famous reciter, then start memorizing ayah by ayah with reading and repeating.

3- Recite what you memorize in every salah.

4-keep daily verses close at hands. Use every spare moment throughout the day to read and memorize the lines of the Quran that you are committing to memory. For example, you may have several free minutes during the time you are waiting for a bus, an appointment at a doctor’s clinic etc.

5-Find a friend who also wants to be a hafiz and encourage each other and make competitions.

6- Distraction free environment: It is best to memorize the Quran in a secluded place with little or no distraction at all. By ensuring that the environment is quiet, you will be able to increase focus and thus be able to retain what you memorize. For example, early morning memorization sessions are very effective because of the minimum distractions at that time.

7- Try to find a well experienced Qur’an teacher, who is a hafiz and can recite Qur’an perfectly.

8- You can use mosques as a perfect place to recite and read Qur’an.
