To be able to memorize the verses from Qur’an I recommend you to start with (Surah El-Nas) number 114 and then go to number 113 and complete with that order because these Surah are short and you will be able to finish it quickly. pay attention, follow the rules and recite precisely. Also, the verses in these surahs are very short, so you will be able to remember them faster than the long ones.

How to memorize long verses:

Initially, as you are starting out to memorize the Qur’an, you will naturally come across long verses. Therefore, in order to commit them to memory try to divide them into small phrases to make it easier for your memory to save. Because sometimes it’s hard to memorize a long verse one time, so you better divide it into small parts. After that you memorize each on Separately by repeating, then try to join the first small part with the following one and then repeat them together several times, and once you memorize it then you can join it with the upcoming one and so on. And that’s what you should do to memorize the long verses, also If you can, listen to an audio recorder that will ease the memorizing process.

Similarities between verses:

Some verses in Qur’an are very similar and it needs more attention to memorize it and not be confused for example these two verses.

1- ” And when We said: Go into this township and eat freely of that which is therein, and enter the gate prostrate, and say: “Repentance.” We will forgive you your sins and will increase (reward) for the right-doers” (Surah Al-Baqarah) verse 58.

2- “And when it was said unto them: Dwell in this township and eat therefrom whence ye will, and say “Repentance,” and enter the gate prostrate; We shall forgive you your sins; We shall increase (reward) for the right-doers” (Surah Al-A’raf) – verse 161.

In Arabic they are really similar and to notice the difference between them you must pay attention when you memorize a new verse. And it’s not just these two verses, there are a lot of similar verses in Qur’an that requires more effort from you to notice the difference between them.

Some of the verses tell stories about profits like Moses or Ibrahim, it’s always easy to memorize these verses than others, because it tells stories that you already know before or tells a story that is mentioned in another position in the Qur’an and you have memorized it already.
